Pigskin progress

The fall sports season is in full swing, with football teams heading into the meat of their seasons, volleyball playing what seems like every day and tennis, cross-country and swimming and diving teams going full bore.

It’s been an interesting time, with some Minnesota State High School League changes and a football team, Renville County West, playing on with just a handful of players. Good luck to the Jaguars as they move ahead this season and as they move to a 9-man conference in 2012.

While we’re on the fall sports topic, remember to sign up for Pigskin Picks. Go the “contests” tab on the West Central Tribune home page, click on the Pigskin Preview contest and follow the directions. It’s easy, fun and you can pick prep and pro games. You can set up contests among your friends or play individually. It’s great fun and a way to keep tabs on the local and pro teams. Plus, there are prizes (I probably could have mentioned that right away, huh?!).

Take care and be sure to contact the Tribune sports department at 320-235-1150 or via email at sports@wctrib.com if you have questions or suggestions.
